Health, Environment, Risk & Science Communication

Health, Environment, Risk, and Science Communication includes the study of efforts to change personal and social behaviors through media interventions and through interpersonal means, media effects on health behavior (including advertising, news, new media and entertainment content), provider-patient communication, social support, media and health policy, patient disclosure and compliance, and health information-seeking, among other topics.  Environmental behavior change communication poses parallel challenges and is also relevant and of interest.

OSU's School of Communication is a top-10 graduate program in the areas of health communication, advertising and persuasion.
