Society for Personality and Social Psychology recently featured Ohio State Ph.D. student Sophie Kjaervik and Professor Brad Bushman. Their blog article entitled “Don’t Poke The Bear,” discusses their research on the link between narcissism and aggression. 

“In a new study, Brad J. Bushman and I conducted a comprehensive review of research on the narcissism-aggression link and gained a fuller picture of the factors that may lead people who are high in narcissism to attack others. 

“In short, nearly any small provocation—or nothing at all—can lead people under the influence of narcissism to lash out, ” Kjaervik said in the article. 

Kjaervik was also interviewed for the Academic Minute and featured in Inside Higher Ed and NPR. The 2 minute and 30 second audio recording provides an overview of the research she and Bushman completed.
