Kevin Stankiewicz awarded SPJ National Award
Kevin Stankiewicz, The Lantern editor in chief, was awarded the Society of Professional Journalists National Award for Sports Writing.
Stankiewicz received this award for the projects he took on as the Oller Endowed Special Reporter position for The Lantern. With this project, he analyzed the contracts of Big Ten coaches and found that they can collect more in bonuses for their players’ athletic achievements than their academic performance.
