School of Comm Faculty and Students Present at Communication Science Futures

Faculty members and graduate students from the School of Communication presented research at the Communication Science Futures 2026 conference in September at Michigan State University.

Professor Rob Potter, along with graduate students Annie Dooley and Kaitlyn Dutton, presented at the conference, which brought together researchers to share findings and discuss the future of communication science. They presented an initial analysis of data collected through their study, “Background Music and Game Play.” The presentation marked the first public research shared by the PANAM Lab at Ohio State. Associate Professor Matthew Grizzard and Assistant Professor Sara Grady also presented work at Comm Science Futures.

The School of Communication’s Psychophysiology and Neuroscience Applied to Media (PANAM) Lab explores how the sounds and messages people encounter every day affect what they think, how they feel and what they remember, using technology that measures the brain’s and body’s responses to media.
