Bushman’s TEDx Talk on Anger Management Selected as TED Editor’s Pick
Professor Brad Bushman received TED Editor’s Pick recognition for his TEDx talk, “Anger Management: What Works and What Doesn’t.”
The recognition is awarded by TED’s editorial team to select talks that make meaningful contributions to its mission of sharing “ideas worth spreading.” Less than 1% of talks are Editor Picks.
Bushman delivered the talk March 7 at TEDxOhioStateUniversity’s “Nexus” event at Fawcett Auditorium. His presentation explores common misconceptions about anger management, including the belief that venting frustration or engaging in aggressive physical activity helps people release anger.
Based on his research, Bushman explains why these approaches may be ineffective and discusses effective strategies for managing anger and reducing aggressive behavior.
Bushman has spent more than 40 years studying the causes, consequences and cures of human aggression and violence. His work has been published in leading scientific journals and featured in national media outlets, including NPR, the BBC and The New York Times. He also advised former President Barack Obama on gun violence and testified before Congress on youth violence.
