Students Attend Fall Open House to Learn More about School of Comm Opportunities

openhouse

This semester’s undergraduate School of Communication Open House was held on  Oct. 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lobby of the Journalism Building, and had a turnout of roughly 170 students.

After signing in, students had the opportunity to visit each table and explore what the School of Communication has to offer, including majors and minors, ASC Career Services, graduate studies and information on how to get involved with research. Faculty members were present to relay important information and answer questions.

A classroom adjacent to the lobby was full of Communications-based organizations. At every table, student representatives of the school’s organizations, PRSSA, BASCA, The PRactice, The Lantern Media Group and SPJ, were willing to talk about what they do and answer any questions.

Students were provided with pizza and other refreshments, and visiting four tables gave students the chance to enter a raffle to receive prizes.
