Rivalry Edition Webinar Brings Together Former Lantern Sports Editors

The School of Communication will host the 2026 Rivalry Edition Webinar Nov. 13 at 4 p.m., bringing together former Lantern sports editors to discuss covering the Ohio State-Michigan football rivalry, changes in sports journalism and stories from behind the scenes of the rivalry.

The virtual panel will feature five journalists with ties to The Lantern and will be moderated by 2002 Ohio State graduate and NFL reporter for Sports Illustrated Albert Breer. Panelists include:

  • Noah Weiskopf (‘25) of 247Sports
  • Tim May (‘77), retired Columbus Dispatch sports writer
  • Zach Meisel (‘11) of The Atlantic
  • Aliyyah Jackson (‘18) of ESPN
  • Spencer Hunt, The Lantern faculty advisor

The event coincides with the eighth annual Rivalry Edition, a collaboration between Ohio State’s The Lantern and the University of Michigan’s The Michigan Daily. The student news organizations annually produce a special print and digital publication focused on the history and traditions surrounding the rivalry. The project began in 2019 and has also served as a fundraiser supporting student journalism.

Last year, The Lantern raised a record $25,285 through the Rivalry Edition, with donations supporting equipment and other needs for its newsroom.

The webinar is free and open to alumni, students and sports fans. Register for the Rivalry Edition Webinar.

Past editions and more information about the project are available at The Rivalry Game.
