PRSSA Honors Dan Orzano

Dan Orzano, professional advisor for PRSSA for more than 35 years

Ohio State PRSSA recently honored Dan Orzano for his role as the chapter's professional advisor for more than 35 years.

Orzano was a member of PRSSA during his time at Ohio State, which he said had a profound impact.

"Being in PRSSA helped set me up for my career," he said. "I can attribute every job I've ever had to PRSSA."

What prompted Orzano to become a professional mentor was the influence of Walter Seifert, previous Ohio State professor and one of the founding members of PRSSA.

"Walt took students under his wing and was a valuable mentor. I wanted to pay it forward," Orzano said.

Many past and current students expressed their thanks for Orzano's dedication and service.

“Dan Orzano exemplifies what it means to be a true mentor and friend," said '02 alumna Jessica (Sherrick) Sidener. "Throughout my time as a PR student and as a PR professional, Dan dedicated so many hours of advice, wisdom and guidance that truly helped shape my career, even today."

Thank you, Dan, for supporting students and dedicating so much to Ohio State PRSSA!

Orzano has had an extensive and successful career in the Columbus communications sphere. He's worked at Fahlgren Mortine, Nationwide Insurance, the Ohio Optometric Association and done his own PR and marketing consulting. Orzano is currently the Manager of Investor Education at the Ohio Department of Commerce.
