Ohio State Faculty, Students Featured at NCA Convention
The National Communication Association held its 111th Annual Convention in Denver, Colorado Nov. 20-23. Over 30 Ohio State School of Communication faculty and graduate students participated, many as paper authors, presenters and session chairs.
Associate Professor Matthew Grizzard and PhD alums Rebecca Frazer, Joe Francemone and Christina Henry won the 2025 Mass Communication Division Research Award for their paper on “Character Individuation and Disposition Formation." This award is only given every other year.
The Top Faculty Papers award in the Political Communication Division recognized the work of PhD student Kara Fort, Professor Rob Bond and School of Communication Director and Professor Kelly Garrett for “Ideological & Epistemic Differences in Misperception Justifications during the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election.”
School of Communication Director and Professor Kelly Garrett, received the National Communication Association's Charles H. Woolbert Research Award for publishing an article that has stood the test of time and become a stimulus for new conceptualizations of communication phenomena.
