Meng’ Publishes Studies on human-AI communication

Jingbo Meng

Associate Professor Jingbo Meng studies how social networks and communication technologies can improve physical and mental health by strengthening social support, sharing trustworthy health information and encouraging healthy behaviors.

As AI becomes a growing part of everyday communication, Meng’s recent research explores how AI can support people online and help combat health misinformation.

Recently, Meng and PhD student Qin Li published two studies on human–AI communication. In the Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication, their study examines how AI can provide social support through human–AI collaboration. Their second study, published in the Journal of Medical Internet Research, analyzes how AI communication skills influence health outcomes.
