Kraft Speaks at Purdue University Athletic Department

Kraft

Dr. Nicole Kraft, associate professor of clinical communication, was recently the guest of the Purdue University Athletic Department, where she worked with them on ways to help coaches, administrators and educators communicate with student-athletes.

Kraft, whose research focus involves student-athlete’s academic use of mobile technology, spoke with four different groups about different facets of student-athlete communication skills, including details on pedagogy, brain development and messaging pathways.

Kraft works annually with Texas Tech University on topics related to student-athletes and mobile technology and has consulted with numerous other collegiate academic and athlete units. In addition, she has worked with the Cleveland Browns on player communication techniques.

Kraft has been teaching in the School of Communication since 2010, focusing on newswriting and editing, feature writing, sports writing, and media law and ethics. Each summer she teaches the Exploration course Student Tech for Academic Success, to help prepare freshmen to meaningfully use technology in their collegiate careers.
