Research by School of Comm Professor Hyunyi Cho and Senior Lecturer Melissa Foster on the link between exercise, mental health and prosocial behavior cited in The New York Times.

Research conducted by Professor Hyunyi Cho and  Senior Lecturer Melissa Foster was cited in a July 26 New York Times opinion article examining the connection between exercise, mental health and charitable giving.

The study explored how exercise can influence prosocial behavior. It found that the positive mood boost people experience after physical activity may increase their willingness to engage in generous behaviors, including donating to charitable causes.

Foster recently joined Colorado Mountain College as an associate professor and fellow in the Center for Civic Education and Engagement.
