Professor Brad Bushman’s article, ‘How does a child become a shooter? Research suggests easy access to guns and exposure to screen violence increase the risk’ was published in The Conversation on Jan. 12. 

The article was written after a shooting in Virginia when a 6-year-old boy shot his first-grade teacher. Bushman touches on the risks of frequently exposing children to violent media and not securing guns in the home.
