Professor Brad Bushman and his colleagues developed an app to increase empathy in young teens.

The Random App of Kindness (RAKi) includes nine mini-games that are scientifically proven to promote aspects of empathy. The developers said that although the app was designed to help increase empathic habits in young teens, it can be enjoyed by all, available to those ages 4 and up.

The app is designed to promote the idea that biology is not the deciding factor of one’s character. The app’s designers described the app as “prosocial,” saying that prosocial technologies such as the Random App of Kindness could help foster more prosocial individuals, relationships, communities and societies.
