14 PRSSA students travel to Anaheim for international conference
The Public Relations Student Society of America chapter at Ohio State recently traveled to Anaheim, CA, bringing nine board members and five general members to PRSSA’s annual international conference (ICON). During the conference, Ohio State’s PRSSA chapter was recognized for receiving a Star Chapter Award and was able to promote their upcoming District Conference to other chapters across the country.
Traveling students heard from and networked with industry professionals, gaining an invaluable experience as the next generation of public relations leaders.
“Attending ICON was such an eye-opening experience with a look into what it’s like to work in the communications industry,” said Lindsey Romano, Ohio State’s PRSSA President.
Students heard from a variety of speakers including Good Morning America’s Gio Benitez, Disneyland’s Suzi Brown, Academy of Country Music's Damon Whiteside and more.
“I received multiple opportunities to network and grow as a young professional. I got to learn and meet with some of the best professionals in the industry and get to know students studying communications from across the country. It was truly inspiring.”
While attending, PRSSA members connected with Ohio State School of Communication alum and CEO of PRSA Linda Thomas Brooks.
