The Shipyard Hires Four BASCA Members
The Shipyard–a marketing engineering agency–hired four members of the School of Communication’s Black Advertising and Strategic Communication Association. The Shipyard started a relationship with BASCA in 2020, and these new hires show the agency’s commitment to BASCA student members.
Jelani Gibson was hired as associate strategist and Mwesi Stokes as associate performance media analyst. Both Gibson and Stokes held internships with the agency during Spring semester.
In addition, The Shipyard hired two BASCA members as student interns for the Summer: Averi Allison and Richard Dixon.
“I’m excited about the commitment The Shipyard has made to mentor, develop and hire BASCA members,” said Dr. Osei Appiah, communication professor and founder of BASCA. “The Shipyard has demonstrated a genuine interest in diversifying the industry, and have distinguished themselves as industry leaders in this area.”
