Press and the Presidency Exhibit
The Journalism Building, in conjunction with the Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums in Fremont, Ohio, will host the exhibit "Press and the Presidency." The exhibit looks at the relationship between U.S. presidents and the media throughout history, with an emphasis on how Hayes handled the press. The free exhibit will be on display in the lobby of Journalism Building, 242 W. 18th Ave., through Oct. 29.
The press has played a role in American politics since the country's inception, and every president since George Washington has had to respond to negative press and use some media to their advantage.
