Associate Professor Erik Nisbet and Associate Professor - Clinical Olga Kamenchuk recently published an article in The Conversation about how Russians view President Donald Trump and the United States. Using new data from Russian pollster VCIOM, the article presented key findings showing Russians overall have a negative view of Trump and the U.S. For example, 77 percent of respondents said they view Trump as self-centered, while just 16 percent said he was trustworthy.

The data was collected on July 10, less than a week before the one-on-one summit between Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held on July 16. The poll found 59 percent of Russians thought nothing would fundamentally change after the summit.
