New Column Shows Internet Freedom Isn’t Always a Tool for Democracy

Erik Nisbet, assistant professor, co-authored a column in The Conversation discussing whether Internet freedom is a tool for democracy or authoritarianism. The column outlined recent research showing that individuals who tune out from politics and immerse themselves in online spectacle has political consequences for the health of democracy.
