The Lantern Wins Six Ohio SPJ Awards
The Lantern received first place in Best College News Writing, Best College Feature Writing, Best College Sports Writing and Best College Opinion Writing at Ohio’s Best Journalism Contest, sponsored by the Society of Professional Journalists. They also won second-place awards in Best College Feature Writing and for Best College Newspaper.
The Contest awarded the Lantern six awards in total.

- Best College News Writing: Sarah Szilagy - "As Strauss victims and students supported statutes of limitations bill, Ohio State lobbied against it"

- Best College Newspaper: Marcy Paredes, Gabe Burggraf, Athena Markowski, and Abby Fricke - “Spring Back to School Edition, 3/24/2022, Rivalry Edition.”
