Associate Professor Lanier Holt was quoted in the Associated Press about the video parody portraying President Trump violently shooting his political adversaries. The Trump administration condemned the video Monday, saying Trump hadn't yet seen the video.

Holt discussed the role social media plays in spreading controversial memes.

“When the person who actually created it gets busted or identified, they say, ‘Oh, it’s a joke,’” Holt said.
