Grizzard, Grady speak on ‘Now at Ohio State’ podcast

Matthew Grizzard

Associate Professor Matt Grizzard and Assistant Professor Sara Grady recently spoke on the ‘Now at Ohio State’ podcast. The episode, What Our Media Choices Say About Us, explores how our media choices serve as an escape and emotional coping mechanism.

Grady explains some of her research on how media consumption affects sleep, alertness and procrastination behaviors. The research specifically examines how the type of media people choose before bed influences their ability to relax and feel restored.

Grizzard explains some of his research that explores why people are drawn to specific characters and not others. His research looks at why we connect with certain stories and characters, and how these stories can influence our thoughts and decisions.
