Congratulations to Matt Erxleben, Chas Monge and Jessica Ryu for passing their PhD candidacy exams. 

Graduate students take candidacy exams when they are in the process of finishing all required coursework for the PhD program. These exams are partially written and partially oral. When both portions are successfully completed, students advance to candidacy.
