Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. Doctoral candidate Kathryn Coduto's recent study found that loneliness and social anxiety are a bad mix for people who use mobile dating apps.

The study measured compulsive tendencies and negative outcomes experienced by those who frequently use dating apps.

"We had participants who said they were missing school or work, or getting in trouble in classes or at work because they kept checking the dating apps on their phones," said Coduto.

The study was co-authored by Ohio State communication professor Roselyn Lee-Won and Young Min Baek, a student at Yonsei University in Korea.
