Doctoral candidate Kathryn Coduto was quoted in a Columbus Dispatch article about Facebook Dating, a new online dating platform that launched Sept. 5.

She said that millennial dating app usage has increased over the past two years. Comparing Facebook Dating to leading apps such as Bumble and Hinge, Coduto said she isn't confident Facebook Dating will take off in the same ways.

“I don’t know that millennials are going to use Facebook Dating because we’re so used to the apps we have and millennials aren’t really the No. 1 user of Facebook,” she said.

Coduto's research specializes in interpersonal and computer-mediated communication.
