My research focuses on the impact of the information and social environment--both offline and online--on factual beliefs and attitudes. In my dissertation, I investigate how network closure, a characteristic of network structure, can lead individuals to believe in and share (mis)information via trust. Methodologically, I combine various data and methods, including panel surveys, social media data, web and app tracking data, and experiments, and use both obtrusive and unobtrusive measures to provide compelling evidence.
