Lecturer Jasmine Roberts spoke about the utility of project-based learning in higher education at the Ohio State Academy of Teaching's 10th Annual Conference on Excellence in Teaching & Learning on May 4. Using findings from previous research on project-based learning as well as student feedback from COMM 4337: Public Communication Campaigns, the presentation argued for more real-world connectivity and application in the classroom to better prepare students to enter the workforce. Hundreds of faculty, staff and administrators attended the conference, including Ohio State University president Michael V. Drake, who spoke about the importance of quality teaching at a research university.
